Stolen Passport/Immigration services

If you lose your passport, we recommend to make a police report, then head down to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority at 10 Kallang Road ((65) 6391-6100) to make temporary visa. After that, let your embassies know so that you can go through customs when you get home.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in many places in singapore, such as in air-conditioned areas such as commercial centers, restaurants, entertainment venues and theaters. Smoking is also prohibited in public buses, MRT, taxi, and in the elevator. Maximum fines of S$ 1,000 may be applied to those who violate the rules for the first time. Common provisions if they provided the ashtray, please do so. But if you are under any kind of roof, we recommend not to do

Tipping

Tipping is not common practice in Singapore as most hotels and restaurants have included a service charge of 10% into the final bill. Although giving a tip is not expected, but it is highly appreciated in a restaurant that does not charge any service or where excellent services was found.

Airport Tax

Passenger airport tax of $21 should have been incorporated into the airline ticket. Including tickets issued outside of Singapore. If this is not done, then you will need to pay $21 at the time of your departure. In some cases, airlines company who paid this airport tax. Passengers who are in transit for less than 24 hours may leave the airport without having to pay airport tax.

GST Refund

As a tourist you can get a GST refund of 7% from your paid bill. If you have shop in one store minimum spending of $100, then you can ask GST refund form from their customer service. Bring that form along with your bill and passport to Global Refund in Terminal 1 or 2 before your departure.
