Universal Studios Singapore, housed within Resorts World Sentosa, is one of the island’s newest gems.
The well-designed theme park holds a total of 24 attractions, 18 of which are created or redesigned specially for Singapore.
There are 7 different themed zones, all of which are based around a central lagoon.
Keeping with the movie theme, each zone is created around a blockbuster hit and makes you feel like you just stepped onto a movie set.
The entrance to Universal Studios proves to be as much of a hit as the interior itself.
It is located a few-minute walk from the entrance of Sentosa. Plenty of signage ensures you’ll find your way easily.
There are plenty of stores to keep your occupied on the walk over, even a vast candy store with candy-loaded trees overhead – magical even before entering movie wonderland.
An oversized spinning 3D version of the Universal logo complete with theatrical smoke is a popular spot for a photo op right outside the ticketing area.
Guests will have no problems getting around the park as it is compact in size but packed to the brim with attractions.
Step into Universal Studios and be greeted by adventures galore.
Some of the one-of-a-kind attractions, courtesy of DreamWorks Animation, found only at Singapore are the Far Far Away castle – based on the animation movie Shrek’s kingdom, and the world’s tallest dueling roller coasters based on the Battlestar Galactica television series.

The Hollywood themed zone is the main street and shopping belt. It is modeled after the actual Hollywood Boulevard from the 70s era, it is flanked by palm trees and a replica of the famous Walk of Fame.
Expect plenty of irresistible souvenirs and scrumptious food here. Revel in the beauty of Hollywood and be prepared to be awestruck.
Next up is the glorious New York zone that is no different from the real city with bright lights, bustling sidewalks and classic New York City landmarks – all featured countless times in movies and television.
Street performers and special effects stage shows hosted by the legendary Steven Spielberg enhance the cityscape.

Be transported into the future in Sci- Fi City zone, an imagined world filled with space age technologies and conveniences.
It is here you will find the amazing dueling roller coasters that almost brush past each other to give a breathtaking feel of near collision.
Both roller coasters have different courses and highlights so be sure to try out both!

Get a feel of rich Egyptian culture in the Ancient Egypt zone. Marvel at the magnificent architecture and artifacts of the 1930s Golden Age of Egyptian Exploration.
Reminiscent of the popular The Mummy movies, there are life-like obelisks, pyramids and even Pharaoh’s tombs.
Your aim here is to decipher the riddles of the Sphinx but do take time to ride the Revenge of the Mummy – an electrifying ride in partial darkness and snap a picture with the good-looking Mummies on stilts.

Next up is The Lost World featuring Jurassic Park and Waterworld movies.
It has many classic attractions that can be found at other Universal Studios parks.
Guests can ride the rapids in their water rafts amidst prehistoric creatures at the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure or scale The Lost World’s massive walls to discover precious treasure and fossils.
There is a captivating show at this zone based on the movie Waterworld where actors perform stunts and showcase pyrotechnics.

Fans of Shrek or fairytales will be mesmerized by the Far Far Away zone that revolves around many scenes from the animation movie.
Try out the Shrek 4D adventure where everything comes to life – even the donkey’s sneeze! Explore the world’s first ever Shrek castle and fly on the Enchanted Airways rollercoaster.

Feel like conquering the wilderness of Africa? Then step right into the lush tropics of the Madagascar zone.
Inspired by the movie of the same name, all the beloved characters are featured here as well as familiar scenes.
Go on a river boat adventure with the 4 main characters in Madagascar: A Crate Adventure ride.
Also worthy to note, the themed eateries and shops at each zone are a delight to delve into. More rides and attractions are slated to be opening at Universal Studio Singapore in the near future so expect even more thrills.
This is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to have some fun.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy themselves tremendously with truly the greatest hits of movie magic!
